  4. This document contains information which could not be included in
  5. the User Guide.

  7. TUTORIAL
  8. --------
  9. The Superbase tutorial in Chapter 33, Volume 1 of the User Guide
  10. should be done in the IDEAS sub-directory. IDEAS contains the 
  11. ACCOUNTS.CSV file, which is required for the tutorial.
  12.  
  13. DBASE FILES UNDER DML
  14. ---------------------
  15. dBase files opened directly under DML must be indexed before you can
  16. browse, using SELECT NEXT and SELECT PREVIOUS.

  18. COMPATIBILITY WITH SUPERBASE 4 WINDOWS
  19. --------------------------------------
  20. Superbase Professional 4 is largely compatible with Superbase 4 
  21. Windows. Data files and programs should be portable between the two 
  22. without difficulty. However, forms are not compatible and must be 
  23. created using the appropriate version of the Form Designer.

  25. The following DML commands are either not available or do not function 
  26. identically in both environments:

  28.      BELL
  29.      CALL
  30.      DDE$
  31.      DDEINIT
  32.      DDETERM
  33.      DDEPOKE
  34.      DDEREQ
  35.      DDEEXEC
  36.      FN sys
  37.      FREE
  38.      SAY
  39.      SET MIN
  40.      SET PG 
  41.      SET PRINTER
  42.      STATUS ON/OFF 
  43.  
  44.      All LAN-specific commands
  45.  
  46. In addition, commands introduced in Superbase 4 Windows Version 1.3 
  47. are not available in Superbase Professional 4 Version 1.0.

  49. COMPATIBILITY WITH SUPERBASE PROFESSIONAL V. 3.02
  50. -------------------------------------------------
  51. A few 3.02 level DML commands behave differently under Superbase 
  52. Professional 4.
  53.  
  54. LOAD SET expects to find a SUPERBAS.INI file in S:
  55. SET FORM is replaced by SET PAGE.
  56. SET PG 3.02 syntax only works if the printer is set to PREFS.
  57. SET PRINTER ON/OFF is obsolete.

  59. MARGINS
  60. -------
  61. The margins set in the Set Page requester are additional to those set 
  62. in Preferences. For example, a Set Page left margin of 1 inch and a 
  63. Preferences left margin of .5 inch results in an overall margin of 1.5 
  64. inch.

  66. PRINTING
  67. --------
  68. If you are using a Superbase SB_printername.ini file, you must ensure 
  69. that this printer is also selected as the preferences printer.
